NAPLES, May 22, 2013 — Women’s professional volleyball returns to Vanderbilt Beach in Naples this Saturday with the Extreme Volleyball Professionals (EVP) Island Holiday event. The public is invited to come watch the top EVP female athletes dazzle the crowd while they compete for cash prizes. The event features talented pro players, great music and an exciting atmosphere. The event is free with viewing space available on a first come, first served basis.
Matches begin at 8am Saturday morning May 25th with semifinals, then finals at approximately 3:00 pm. Eight of the top women’s professional teams in the country will battle in this women’s pro invitational. This year’s talented field includes pros Kim Whitney and Tara Cook (2008 Island Naples Champions) as well as last year’s EVP Island Naples champions Megan Walling and Chara Harris.

We have an excellent partnership with the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades, Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Sports Council of Collier County, plus the support of Vanderbilt Beach Resort, Collier County Parks and Recreation, Cabana Dan’s and the local Riptide Volleyball Association.”
The 2013 EVP Tour is coming off successful events in Lake Charles, Tybee Island and Panama City Beach. The Naples tournament is the fourth stop on the national circuit and will be filmed and covered on the Beach Sports Network. The EVP Beach Volleyball Tour’s is one of the premier women’s pro tours in the county and the primary aim is to support beach volleyball events that engage families, fans, athletes, students, communities and sponsors in a great day at the beach. At each EVP event, spectators will not only see elite athletes compete on the sand for top honors, they also have the chance to interact with the pros by participating in contests and promotions at hosting venues.
