When & how did you start playing volleyball?
I started playing volleyball in 1991 at Naperville Central High School because I was cut from the baseball team.

What is your playing background?
I played 4 years at Graceland College and started playing on the beach in some tournaments in 1998. My first ‘Pro’ win was with Omar Moran in a MPVA in Grand Haven in 2001. My first EVP win came in 2003 playing with Mark Addy at the EVP Championships in Chicago. I won two events in 2003, Chicago and Milwaukee. Playing with Bartek Bachorski in 2004, we won in Chicago and Santa Cruz. We also finished in second place in Kansas City and the Chicago Championships.

Where are some of the places you have traveled to play?
For the EVP I have traveled to California, Colorado, Michigan, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Indiana and Wisconsin. For volleyball in general, I have traveled all over the United States and Jamaica in 2001.

What attracted you to the EVP Tour?
It was a great chance to play competitively in Chicago but also afforded me the opportunity to travel to play against good competition.

What is your most memorable moment play on tour so far?
My two favorites are my first win with Mark Addy in 2003, it was a double final with the old rules and winning with Bartek in Santa Cruz against great competition all day, getting to play Mark Paaluhi and Morgan Mainz in the final.

What are your favorite foods, music, books?
My favorite band is Dave Matthews Band. I love New York Style Pizza. My favorite recent readings are Angels and Demons and the Davinci Code by Dan Brown.

What is your favorite thing to do besides volleyball?
Spending time with my family. I am married (7 years to Jennifer) with two kids, Taylor(5) and Austin(3).

Why recycling 70% of your waste is so important?
Recycling waste is important to saving our earth’s precious resources, reducing pollution and saving energy.

Married to wife Jennifer for 8 years(this April), we have 2 kids - Taylor 5 and Austin 3(in February). The EVP is perfect for me because it allows me to travel and play good competition but still have time to be a family man. I love the fact that I can play volleyball at a high level but still have a great home life as well. It has been great to meet friends and develop relationships with people from all over the world. I look to continue doing these same things for years to come...Thanks to the EVP tour, Corona Light, Barton Beers Importers and all the other great sponsors for making it possible.
