2. Beach Digs and Sets on the first team contact:
Beach digs (open hand digs) are legal on hard driven spikes or blocks that have downward approach and the spiker had a full attack at the ball. If the ball was tipped off the net then a judgment call will be made by the referee as to the speed of the ball at the time of the dig.

3. No open hand dinks here:
An open hand dink is when you attack the ball with your open fingers and direct the ball on an attack. The use of the knuckles, fist, palm or heel is legal areas of attack with you hands. If you are up to block and the ball is over set, you must spike the ball or joust simultaneously with the offensive player or block the ball with out any directions unless the offensive player attacks the ball first.

4. Hands sets:
A poor handset is judged by three rules: First, if the ball enters your hands at different times. Second if the ball leaves your hands at different times. Third, if the ball has rested on your hands and caused the ball to be carried. A spin is not nesesarily an indication of a poor set.

5. Setting over the net:
Player may only set over the net if they have their shoulders squared to the area they are setting to. Men's and Women's B level may not set over the net at any time.

6. Foot Fault:
Any movement of the line on a serve is a fault. Movement by sand or foot included.

7. Serve:
Only one toss on the serve and contact within 8 seconds after referee blows whistle. Let serve rule will be implemented (ball may contact the net during serve).

8. Court size: 16 x 8 m = 56’6” x 26’3”

9. Antennas: Antennas shall be used as aerial boundaries of the playing field in the Pro division.

Efforts must be made by teams within each pool to adjust team assignments for teams that do not arrive on time (i.e. move the absent team #4 to team #2 if #2 has later start time). Once the adjustment is made, one point per minute will be deducted from the absent team until they arrive or a forfeit is determined.

14. Division/Levels:
All tournament directors reserve the right to reassign team division levels based on the EVPTOUR.COM rating system. Teams that register on the day of the event will be seeded behind ALL pre registered teams.

15. Officiating:
At least one member of the team MUST be present for the entire match. If no one is present to officiate, that team will forfeit its remaining matches and may be penalized further by the tournament director. If the two competing teams mutually decide that they do not want refs, they may waive the assigned refs responsibilities.

16. Final Pool Standings:
The following criteria shall determine the top teams for the final pool standing (in order of importance): First--match records; Second --set record (if multiple sets per match); Third--head to head results; Fourth--point differential for all games played. There will be absolutely no play-off within the pool unless the following situation occurs: There is a three way tie for first; all three team are in a head to head stand off; the first place team according to the above criteria is selected; the remaining two teams are tied for second with one team having a higher point differential but also having lost to the other team (ahead in points but lost in head to head competition). If this situation occurs, teams tied for second will have a one game playoff to seven points with no cap to determine who advances. The first place team must officiate.
