Superwoman reminds us all to stop and thank our parents

EVP Athletes,

I want to thank you all for playing in the 21st annual Pro Am. It is hard to believe that this year is the beginning of another decade of running events. As a player, director and father, I really have enjoyed the last 21 years. As you know, I have seen our family of players come and go based on many tangible and intangible needs.  As you are thinking about what to pray for tonight, please say a prayer for Christine Federico. She has moved on to a better place with many sand volleyball courts and plenty of pick up games with no wait.

Christine won more EVP Tour events then any athlete in our history. She also holds the worlds greatest upset in AVP history as she and Erin Gray (Team Chicago #32) defeated AVP’s #1 seed in Deerfield Beach FL in 1997.

I know her life will continue on earth because as Carlos and I teach our lesson plan to kids and adults, the Superwomen drill will always keep the ball alive. Christine will always own the court on defense and never let you down.

On behalf of the EVP Tour, its sponsors and its athletes, I will add the Superwomen Beach Volleyball drill as a contest at each event moving forward.  For those who achieve and win the Superwomen Beach Volleyball contest, I  will donate an EVP Tour Volleyball to a silent auction in Christine Federico’s name.

Make sure to bring your smile to the 8:45am check in with Jonzey, Neil, Lori and Matt. Also, if you are having a bad day, please take a moment to enjoy beach and the people your with and take a deep breath of air then thank your parents for being Superwoman and Superman.
